Q: Are there any options for a non-electrical irrigation valve?


Basically I would have to run wires under a ton of pavement and am will to try anything to avoind this.

You do have options. They have battery operated valves. Of course like anything the more you spend will determine the better quality. Most don't reccomend battery operated valves. However, although a little pricey (about $90-$115 per valve) Hunter just came out with there DC collection (DC 100, 200 & 400. Basically 1, 2 and 4 stations). These are incredible, you can hook one of these timers to 4 valves. They are all digital and user friendly. Unfortunately you won't be able to find these at your local hardware store, you will have to order them or go to a Landscape shop.
