Q: How many jobs do most contractors usually run at the same time?

I want my contractor to devote the proper amount of attention to my remodel. We live in a small community, so I do not believe there are many remodel jobs moving at the same time. Can I ask they not work on more than one job at a time?

A:

Some contractors run too many jobs at one time thereby dramatically decreasing their focus on your project. Determine whether the contractor will be there daily running the job or a qualified foreman. (The contractor should always be available to you for questions, problems whether or not there is a foreman on the site. Make sure you actually meet the foreman as well, to insure a good compatibility match.

Yes, you can ask a contractor to only work on your job at the current time, but please remember contractors are working professionals and if they have the means to handle more than one job they will work more than one job. Great contractors can handle more than one job at a time. Just make to stay on top of your project and develop a good working relationship with your contractor.
