Q: How expensive is it to replace rotted windows?
How much should I expect to pay to replace rotten windows?
A: Price can vary greatly
The cost to replace rotten windows can vary quite a bit. How much of window is rotten? (Frame, sash, both) If rot goes beyond window frame extra costs can occur. Insert or retro installs use existing frames this is least expensive installation. Full frame or new construction replacement installation requires removing and replacing entire frame and interior and exterior trim. Full frame is most expensive. Also the type, material, brand, and options of window can add to cost. An average 3' x 5' window price installed could vary from
vinyl $400-$800 per window special options such as color bonding, laminates, between the glass blinds could add additional cost.
fiberglass and woodclad products $600-$1200 per window special options such paint/stain, custom colors, between the glass blinds could add additional cost.
My company has installed windows from $250 to over $10,000 for an opening. The $250 a small vinyl insert and the $10,000 would be 10 windows mulled unit about 10' x 8' woodclad combined with stain and blinds.
I recommend checking out 3 local window dealers that carry quality vinyl, fiberglass, and woodclad products. Decide what is most important for you and your home.
Good luck! If you have any more questions I'd be more than happy to help.

A: 3x5 Insulated low E window Vinyl
I have a old stucco house and I am going to buy a window on clearance ay Home Depot 3x5 roughly I would like to put on a wall that has no pipes wires or anything in the way just a fast cut the stucco and maybe install a header if needed and put in the window nothing fancy! Do you have any idea what it might cost to do that cut in and install the window? I would even do the painting on the trim of the new stucco fill around the edges, The bank ownes the house is why I want to narrow down the price.
