Q: With shaker cabinets in the kitchen and shaker interior style doors do panel walls in the rest of house have to be shaker style?
We are building a home and have chosen white shaker cabinets for the kitchen. We are also leaning towards a 3 or 4 panel shaker style interior door throughout the house. The question is that our builder provides raised panel walls in the dining room and other areas of the house like in a built in window seat area and we are wondering if we must stay with the shaker style trim in the rest of the house if we have shaker cabinets and interior doors. Also our stairs going up from the foyer have round spindles, not square and another area of the house has round columns that separate the dining room from the foyer. Is it okay to mix shaker and other styles or will this not look right? Thank you!!
