Q: Beadboard cabinets or plain white?
Hello! We are in the process of planning our kitchen renovation. Does anyone have experience with beadboard cabinets? I am trying to decide between beadboard and plain white cabinets. I know the look of the plain white will stand the test of time. But, I am a big fan of the beadboard. I find it different and exciting. I'm slightly concerned this look go out of style, though.
A: Bead Board All The Way!
I am a builder in Florida so I am a big fan of bead build for a particular reason, bead board has a very "Florida Beach" feel. If you are not looking for this feel and you would like a more traditional, late 50's feel, stick to the "painted white." Bead board is very easy so don't let the look convince you that you can't do it. Home Depot sells kits that make it very easy, you buy the kit for the height of you cabinets, cut it with any circular saw and hide the cut with a piece of trim at the bottom.
