Q: Porcelain tile vs. ceramic for a kitchen floor? Some say ceramic isn't durable enough for a floor. True? False?

A: Return On Investment

Ceramic tile is fine for floors, but there is a big difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles. Ceramic tiles have the color glazed on the top of it while the color goes all the way through porcelain tiles. So in the debate of porcelain vs. ceramic in any location that has a higher chance of something hard (pots, pans, plates, and glasses) being dropped in it (kitchens), I would have to recommend using a porcelain tile to ensure that in the chance of something falling and chipping a tile, you won't have to hire someone to come back and switch out a tile. I hope this was helpful.

A: Tile choices for your kitchen

I agree with the above answer: Porcelain is a better choice for kitchens, especially if you have young children that are prone to dropping things on the floor.
