Q: Do you know of any shower rod bracket that would hang over the top of the shower frame or any other way to put up a temporary non-tension shower rod?

My paraplegic nephew is coming to visit. We have a framed shower that has a 48" wide front with a hinged door on the right and a fixed glass panel on the left. The back and the right side of the shower enclosure is solid, but the left side is only solid 36" high and has glass the rest of the way up into the shower frame. We want to remove the hinged shower door and the fixed glass panel, and put a shower curtain across the front.
My problem: I am afraid that the glass panel on the left will not support a tension shower rod. Do you know of any shower rod bracket that would hang over the top of the shower frame or any other way to put up a temporary rod?
