Q: What is the easiest and cheapest way to replace a plastic shower?
It's one of those four piece showers, 1 piece for the tub, and then 3 panels for the 3 walls. Unfortunately the plastic captures moisture and the bathroom is not ventilated very well.
A: The necessary evil.
Plastic shower are installed in an attempt to make keeping the shower clean. Unfortunately, they end up being a drastic loss of quality. I have found that it is easiest to replace them by using a pry-bar to pull it off the walls. Then patch any damage to the drywall behind it and install your tile. It really isn't hard once you get started. I hope this helps. God Bless!
